December 23rd, 2007

Wow, as if the Star Wars Holiday Special wasn’t bad enough - it was followed by the 1980 release of “Christmas In The Stars” - The Star Wars Christmas music album!
I could go on and on about who had the idea that C3PO and R2D2 singing Christmas music as a good idea - but instead I will just let you enjoy these classic songs for yourself.
Pay attention or you might miss the guest singer on “R2-D2 We Wish You A Merry Christmas” - yup that’s Jon Bon Jovi!
Here is how ended up on the album according to the almighty Wikipedia:
When he was 17, John was working sweeping floors at his cousin Tony Bongiovi’s recording studio, The Power Station. In 1980, when Meco was there recording Christmas in the Stars: The Star Wars Christmas Album, Tony recommended John for the song “R2-D2 We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” This became his first professional recording (credited as John Bongiovi).
